After a few crazy weeks I have finally finished my final collections for hallmark ready for them to see on Monday! Unfortunately I can't post any images of my work just yet!
This week I have also had pieces of my work selected to be exhibited at Print Source in New York this April which is a very exciting opportunity as we are the first and only college to exhibit there! Hopefully it will be very successful and we will sell lots of our work! x

I received my feedback from my uni tutors on Thursday for my last project which was 'Surface Design for Fashion'. I achieved a first grade which i am so happy about as i worked so hard! All my hard work has paid off, and also all of my garment shapes for this project were selected to be exhibited at the trade show Indigo in Paris next week!! I am feeling quite proud of myself! x

Hallmark

My next project at uni is surface design for gift. We will be working with Hallmark for this project which is very exciting! We have been given trends from Hallmark to follow, which is all a bit secretive at the moment. I have spent the past few days getting research for my theme, and now cant wait to start drawing. Hopefully i will get lots of inspiration from Paris, which is only 4 days away now! so so exiting, x

Sarah Morpeth

Today i attended a workshop which was led by Sarah Morpeth. She produces beautiful artist books by cutting and folding paper to create intricate pop-up designs. The image below shows her work, take a look at her website to see the rest of her gorgeous pieces.

In the workshop she demonstrated how to make and range of different books by folding and cutting paper. Then by adding cuts along the folds of the pages, she taught how to create pop-ups on the pages of our books. She also showed us how to make a stitch book, by using a range of papers to create the pages, and a needle and thread technique to bind the book together.
